Roth (plaintiff), the owner of a hair salon, employed Speck (defendant) as a hairdresser in a one year contract. The defendant earned a large profit for the plaintiff’s business, but contends that the working conditions were unbearable and left the employment after six months for a similar job with higher pay. The plaintiff tried to replace him, but was not able to find someone who brought in the same amount of profits. The plaintiff sued the defendant for breach of contract.
