Maria and Phillip enter into a joint child custody agreement. A few months later, Maria and Phillip enter into a contract for Maria to buy Phillip’s car for $5,000. Although the contract provides that the car must be in working condition, the car is missing several parts and does not start. Maria first sues Phillip for sole custody and then for breach of contract. At the first trial, Maria testifies that Phillip should not have custody because he often gets drunk and fails to pick up their children from school. At the second trial, Maria testifies that Phillip has a reputation for being dishonest in his business dealings.
