Husband and wife met and married. Husband worked for a clinic while wife worked as a nurse practitioner. After their son was born, wife became a stay at home mom. Husband opened his own ophthalmology practice where wife handled administrative tasks. Although she did not earn a salary, husband’s earnings effectively included wife’s compensation for her work. After the couple separated, husband sold the practice to another physician for whom he worked part time. Husband had other assets from his deceased grandfather (the “disputed property”), which he periodically used to supplement the parties’ earned income.
