After the death of her partner of 30 years, Marsha Wetzel moved into Glen St. Andrew Living Community, a residential community for older adults. Upon learning of her sexual orientation, several residents began subjecting Wetzel to a pattern of harassment, including physical assaults, homophobic slurs, and other discriminatory conduct. Wetzel repeatedly reported these incidents to management, but they allegedly failed to take meaningful action to address the harassment. Instead, management allegedly restricted Wetzel’s access to facilities, accused her of lying about the incidents, and threatened to evict her. The harassment continued for over 15 months, severely impacting Wetzel’s mental and physical health and interfering with her use and enjoyment of her housing.
