A snowstorm in New York City forced significant weather delays at John F. Kennedy International Airport—particularly for international flights. Plaintiff remained in airplane for nearly seven hours at the airport terminal after an international flight, during which she alleged she suffered from a lack of food, water, and sanitation.
The snowstorm and resulting weather delays prompted a federal investigation into airline handling of such delays and new regulations on such weather events.
Plaintiff sued the Terminal One Group Association, which operated the terminal where the plane was located during the snowstorm. She sued the Terminal One Group Association on a theory of false imprisonment for its actions.
