Leon (Respondent) was charged with drug crimes based on evidence seized from his residence in Glendale, which officers discovered while conducting an investigation about the sale of cocaine from that neighborhood. A police officer seized the evidence based on good faith reliance on a warrant that was later deemed to be defective. Leon filed a motion to suppress the evidence at his trial, which the district court granted.
