Defendants, Dale Doerr, John Paul Doerr, Archie Pixley and others, were charged with an unlawful prostitution conspiracy using the facilities of interstate commerce, and with tax crimes related to the enterprise. The prostitution activities underlying the offense were concentrated in three businesses. A customer entering the club would be required to pay a cover charge. He would then be directed to a table and joined by a dancer. Once the customer had purchased a drink, the waitress would return and ask the customer if he would like to go to a private area with the dancer, where the dancer would engage in sexual acts with the customer.
