Tingler v. Greystone Homes, Inc.

In 2010, Tingler purchased a newly constructed home from Greystone Homes. Several years later, Tingler discovered numerous construction defects, including improper installation of windows, doors, and the roof, which allegedly led to water intrusion and damage to the home’s structure and interior. Tingler also claimed that Greystone had concealed these defects by covering them with insulation and drywall. Tingler filed suit against Greystone, asserting claims for breach of contract, negligence, negligence per se based on building code violations, and fraud. Tingler alleged that the defects caused damage to non-defective components of the home, including drywall, insulation, and wooden structural elements.
