State v. Harris
Citation:
Court of Common Pleas of Delaware, 2017 WL 1505219.Facts
In 2005, defendant and Deborah Jastrebski started Practice without Pressure, a non-profit designed to serve individuals with disabilities. Jastrebski was the Chief Executive Officer and defendant was the Chief Operations Officer. Sandra Bufano began working as a volunteer for PWP in 2005, but advanced in her role with the organization. In 2011, Kerricia Marino Scholl began working for PWP as a secretary. During their time with the organization, both Bufano and Scholl complained of unwanted sexual contact from the defendant. In particular, the defendant and Scholl had a number of sexual encounters in the PWP building. Following the first encounter, Scholl sent the defendant photos of herself in lingerie. Following the final incident, Scholl learned she may have been exposed to Hepatitis C and Bufano drove Scholl to the doctor’s. Scholl then told Bufano and Jastrebski what had occurred with defendant. While initially supportive, Jastrebski soon became hostile and asked if Scholl intended to press charges. Two years after resigning and three years after the last sexual encounter, Scholl learned of distressing allegations against the defendant that led her to report her own allegations to police.
