RJR created a rewards program call Camel Cash, where consumer who bought cigarettes would get certificates (called C-Notes) that they could redeem for merchandise. Plaintiffs enrolled in this program. In October of 2006, RJR notified members that the program would terminate in March of 2007 and that customers could redeem their certificates for merchandise until then. However, RJR instead stopped redeeming certificates in October of 2006. Plaintiffs were unable to redeem their certificates and consequently brought this action.
