In March 1977, the Ramirezes contracted with Autosport to purchase a new mobile home for $12,900. Upon delivery in May 1977, they discovered numerous defects including a malfunctioning furnace, leaking pipes, improperly installed doors and windows, and other construction problems. Despite multiple repair attempts over several months, Autosport failed to fix all the issues. The Ramirezes continued to live in the mobile home while seeking repairs. In November 1977, after continued problems and inadequate repairs, they notified Autosport that they were revoking their acceptance of the mobile home and demanded a refund. When Autosport refused, the Ramirezes filed suit seeking rescission of the contract and damages.
