Sophie Block, married three times, had one son, Julian, who passed away in 1949. After his death, she married Frank Lipper, and upon his death, she married Max Block. On January 30, 1956, Sophie executed a will prepared by her son’s widow’s estranged children’s attorney, Frank Lipper. In her will, Sophie explained her decision to exclude her daughter-in-law, Bernice Weslow, and her grandchildren, stating that their relationship had been increasingly distant and unfriendly since Julian’s death. She recounted how Bernice and her children showed little interest in her or her family, despite Sophie’s previous kindness toward them. Sophie contrasted this behavior with the attention given by her other children, and she expressed how their attitudes had caused her personal distress in her later years.
