The plaintiff and the defendant separated in October 1989. After the separation, the defendant began to send a steady stream of correspondences to the plaintiff at her sister’s residence, where she was living at the time, and later to a home she shared with their daughter. These correspondences referred to the plaintiff as a “wacco” and other derogatory terms. The defendant also wrote numerous letters and correspondences to the parties’ daughter referring to the plaintiff in derogatory terms. The defendant also sent copies of a latter to the plaintiff’s father and the plaintiff’s sister referring to the daughter in derogatory terms.
