Harrison v. Pritchett
Citation:
682 So. 2d 650 (1996)Facts
Brenda Joy Harrison and Marvin Pritchett were involved in a long-standing personal relationship that ended in 1994. Harrison alleged that in 1984, Pritchett orally agreed to establish a $250,000 trust fund for her benefit in exchange for personal services she would provide. From 1976 through 1994, Harrison provided various personal services to Pritchett, his family, and employees, including cleaning, cooking, shopping, catering, hair cutting, laundry, driving, and other personal services. Harrison claimed that Pritchett either failed to establish the promised trust fund or established it and subsequently liquidated it. After their relationship ended, Harrison filed a two-count complaint seeking $250,000 in damages for breach of the oral agreement and alternatively for quantum meruit for the reasonable value of services rendered.
