Story wrote that “I had the money in the bank the day you were 21 that I intended for you, and you shall have the money certain.” Uncle William died before paying, and the executor of the estate refused to pay the promised 5k to nephew William. The executor claimed there was no consideration on the nephew’s side of the deal.
