Defendants executed and signed an instrument June 10, 1953, for the purpose of obtaining the services of plaintiff in re-roofing their residence situated in Webster Parish, Louisiana. The document set out in detail the work to be done and the price thereto be paid in monthly installments. The instrument was signed by plaintiff’s sale representative, who, however, was without authority to accept the contract for and on behalf of the plaintiff. After the agreement was entered into, plaintiff engaged its workmen and two trucks and proceeded to defendants’ residence for the purpose of doing the work contracted for the defendants. Upon their arrival, the workmen found others in the performance of the work. Defendants notified plaintiff’s workmen that the work had been contracted to other parties two days before and forbade them to do the work.
