Dahl (Petitioner) and Dahl (Respondent) underwent divorce proceedings in Utah family court, and full custody was awarded to Dr. Charles Dahl after the trial court excluded from evidence nearly all of Ms. Kim Dahl’s trial exhibits. Counsel for Ms. Dahl made several major procedural errors that led to this result. Notably, counsel failed to file proper expert witness reports as to experts that he had designated to testify in favor of Ms. Dahl receiving custody. He also failed to make proper pretrial disclosures and prepare an exhibit list.
