Plaintiff lives on a lot in Des Moines and there is an undeveloped piece of land next to her property. The undeveloped land belongs to Defendant. Plaintiff decided to clear a portion of Defendant’s land and plant grass on it because she wanted more yard space for her children. When she did this, Plaintiff knew that she did not own the land. Since Plaintiff first cleared the land, she has planted bushes, constructed a driveway, and installed a propane tank on the land.
Plaintiff now claims that she is entitled to Defendant’s land through adverse possession.
