Britton v. Turner

Britton (plaintiff) agreed to work for one year for Turner (defendant). In return for Britton’s labor, Turner agreed to pay him $120. Britton terminated his employment before the one year had elapsed and did so without Turner’s consent. Britton sued Turner to recover $100 for the labor he did provide before abandoning his employment. Turner argued that Britton had no good cause for terminating his employment but did not offer any evidence of damages he incurred as a result of Britton’s breach. The trial court found for Britton and awarded him $95. Turner appealed the jury verdict.
