Baidoo v. Blood-Dzraku
Citation:
48 Misc. 3d 309, 5 N.Y.S.3d 709, 2015 N.Y. Slip Op. 25096 (N.Y. Sup. Ct. 2015)Facts
Ellanora Baidoo and Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku married in 2009 but never lived together. By 2015, Baidoo sought a divorce but could not locate Blood-Dzraku to serve him with the divorce papers. The last known address for Blood-Dzraku was an apartment he vacated in 2011. Despite hiring investigative firms, checking with the post office for forwarding addresses, searching DMV records, and attempting to trace his pre-paid cell phone, Baidoo could not find a physical address for her husband. Blood-Dzraku maintained occasional telephone contact with Baidoo but told her he had no fixed address or place of employment and refused to make himself available for service. Baidoo could, however, communicate with Blood-Dzraku through his Facebook account, which she verified was authentic through their exchanges and by identifying him in photographs on the account.
