Bashir went to Garak’s house to ask if he could borrow a cup of sugar. When Garak didn’t answer the door, Bashir went to the tool shed where he heard Garak working. Garak was startled and presumed Bashir was trying to break into the shed to steal his tools. He shoved him into the shed, slammed the door and yelled “stay in there until you learn some respect.”. He stomped away. The door looked solid and sounded like it locked, but the latch had been broken for weeks and didn’t actually catch. There’s also a large window that opens easily to the backyard. Bashir, however, was too intimidated to move and simply stayed put.
